Are You Content With What You Have
Posted by under: Being Content.
Being content with what you have. Well are you? Most people I talk to are not. Its always a push for a little bit more. I talked with a woman today who was on the verge of tears because she couldn’t have the things she thought she needed. She claimed she had worked hard all her life to protect her credit and now she was losing her good name and her good credit line.
The truth is , credit affords all of us an opportunity to buy things we can’t afford. Our own lack of patience compels us to buy it own time and fool ourselves into believing its ok as long as we can make the payments. It is without question one of the biggest lies we are fed and its starts when we are kids.
Value is placed on material objects from the crib. We teach our babies to love their new toys and to play with them. When they get tired of their new toy, well they a get another. The only difference when we are older is the price of the toy. What happens is when we grow older, old enough to have a credit card, we let the new toys being marketed to us by advertising gurus that are lives would be so much better if we just had that new toy. Think about it. Advertising slogans like “ you’ve worked hard, you deserve it” or wouldn’t you look better in a blah blah blah? And what happens, we take the bait, then are bound to creditors to the point of never being able to recover. If we just were content with what we had. Remember the baby in the crib? How about going to pick that little guy or gal up and hold them, and love them and play with them. That never goes out of style , it costs nothing and the investment in the future is priceless.
